Once Upon a Time in France is an authentic french-style bistro located in East Nashville that opened in 2019. Once Upon a Time in France is a family-owned establishment. The concept began when French born sound engineer Melvil Arnt moved to Nashville and decided to open a traditional bistro. He was soon joined by his father, who is a Ferrandi trained chef, and later his mother and the family worked together to create the restaurant.

East Nashville is kind of like the Brooklyn of Nashville. It’s large, diverse and begins once you cross a river (the Cumberland) from downtown. Known for being artsy and creative, local restaurants, coffee shops, art galleries and bars are interwoven in the fabric of many of East Nashville’s communities.
