Virago, located in the Gulch and operated by the M Street group, is Nashville’s premier sushi restaurant. The modern design of Virago perfectly matches the menu which is massive and has many imaginative sushi and Asian-fusion offerings. Inside Virago's spacious interior, dark red is the primary color and low lighting helps to maintain an almost nightclub type of vibe. Virago has a great wrap-around bar and an outdoor patio that overlooks downtown and Union Station.
Neighborhood Spotlight:
The Gulch
Twenty years ago, the neighborhood now known as The Gulch, was just a train yard full of garages, warehouses and gravel parking lots. The only reason to ever come here was to listen to some bluegrass at the iconic Station Inn, opened since 1974 or to perhaps to grab a meat and three at Arnold’s, a soul food institution, opened since 1982. In the past twenty years no area of Nashville has experienced as much growth as here.
