Five Daughter's Bakery, one of our favorite treats in Nashville, is a family-business owned and operated by Isaac and Stephanie Meek along with their five Daughters. After starting out selling donuts to local coffee shops out of their house, Five Daughter's opened their first two brick and mortar shops in 2015 in 12 South and the Factory at Franklin. Five Daughter's is known for their 100-layered donut which takes three days to make. The dough is prepared on the first day, butter gets folded in on the second and the pastry is served on the third. Five Daughter's uses only high-quality ingredients, they've stated “One of our five daughters has a lot of sensitivities to food so we try to use the absolute best things we can.” Owner Isaac Meek is a third generation baker and business owner in Nashville.
Neighborhood Spotlight:
12 South
12 South, located on a half-mile stretch of 12th avenue, south of Downtown, is Nashville’s most walkable neighborhood and a great place to spend an afternoon in Music City. Hip and full of boutiques, restaurants and murals, this neighborhood features predominately arts and crafts bungalows and has a style all its own.
