Hatch Show Print's beginnings date back in 1879 in Nashville, four years after Wisconsin printer William H. Hatch moved his family to the city, his sons Charles and Herbert founded CR and HH Hatch. From their very first print job the Hatch brothers got the look right. Here was the simplicity and the effortless balance between type, size and style. Here, too, was the distinct whiff of American history, southern culture, and entertainment.
The golden age of Hatch was from the mid-1920s, when Charles’ son Will T. Hatch took over the business to his death in 1952. It was a golden era for country music as well, and Hatch captured the magic. Located as a separate exhibit inside the Country Music Hall of Fame, a tour through Hatch Show Print is a tour through Nashville history.
Neighborhood Spotlight:
Downtown
Life in Downtown Nashville, for better or worse, revolves around one street - Broadway. Broadway, or in fact Lower Broadway as it’s known by locals, is the home of dozens of rowdy honky tonks that feature live music 16+ hours a day, 365 days a year.
